It’s the little things in Golf that are really big things.

Look at the cover photo cover photo of the 1st edition of Hogan’s 1st book…notice anything?  Hogan’s secret produced consistent powerful golf shots with little to no sidespin.  Did you know Spaulding measured Ben Hogan’s club head speed at 132 mph?  (See video below) Hogan was old school. He wanted only the people who took the time to figure it out to “get it,” to “dig it out of the dirt,” work for it in other words. This is the 1st cover of Hogan’s 1st book.  Do you think that maybe he put the most important lesson illustration on the cover?  Is this subtle enough?  Do you think he is trying to make a point to the world?  Hogan’s secret has been hiding in plain sight all these years.  So small most of the world missed it and they think, “how could that be it?” It’s too simple.

Now lets watch and listen to Hogan explain it himself.

It’s the little things in Golf that are really big things.

Hogan’s secret is not gripping too firmly with the right index finger and thumb. With the correct amount of pressure with the right index finger and thumb the club releases more constantly and thus the golfer hits the ball solidly and with little to no side spin. Why? Because when squeezed too tightly the thumb and index finger activate very large muscles that run all way to the chest and back. These two fingers keep the golfer from releasing the club consistently because they have activated these very large muscles.

Side spin as you know produces slices and hooks.  Most golfers, even really good players, do not realize how hard they are gripping with the “swing wreckers”, the right forefinger and thumb.”  ( Hogan’s words)  Most people think that they are NOT gripping too hard or this is NOT going to make a very big difference in their game.  I imagine Hogan himself ran into this same problem when trying to convey this idea to his students.  Notice the cover again:  It’s not the left hand grip Hogan is highlighting…its the right.  “The grip of the right hand, since it is the hand that does the overlapping, is more complicated.”  Hogan  He also dedicated an entire page (page 31) to this concept.

So we have the cover photo, eight pages out of his 109 page book and 14 illustrations all dedicated to the right hand alone.  Think its important?  Think all golfers should pay close attention to this part of their game?  You will be amazed at the difference a proper right hand grip will make in your game and particularly the correct grip pressure with the right index finger and thumb.

Grip Secret will train your muscle memory to do Hogan’s secret to ball striking…consistent golf shots with little to no sidespin.  To do this you must have the proper grip pressure with the right thumb and index finger.  The more you practice with Grip Secret, the more it will be ingrained in your muscle memory.  Then it will be just like second nature for you to have your right hand in the correct position on the club and you will not grip too tightly with the “swing-wreckers.”  This will greatly improve your swing, chipping, pitching and putting.  If you try it you will love what it does for your game and you will see what a very big difference those two fingers make in your entire game.
